On the day of the funeral, you will be greeted by one of our Funeral Conductors, either Mark, Brian, Martin or Geoff. The conductor, recognisable with a top hat and cane, will be your main point of contact and will compassionately guide you and all attendees through the day. Each of our conductors are highly experienced and will answer any of your questions as well as providing instruction to our team or family members who choose to carry the coffin.

Funeral support Staff

Our team will bring your loved one into our mortuary care using our specialist private ambulance vehicles. We will respectfully follow your instructions for their care which may include embalming, dressing in their own clothes, make-up, shaving, hair-styling or any other requests that you may have.

On the day of the funeral, our team of professional pallbearers (coffin bearers) and chauffeurs will be there to support you together with our funeral conductor and any officiant you have chosen for the day. Our team will always be immaculately dressed in matching smart uniforms. If you wish, you can also request less traditional attire for our funeral team too

OUR SUPPORT WITH

Care For Your Loved One

We take great pride in our mortuary care facilities and your loved one will always be treated with the upmost care and respect. We will coordinate their according to your wishes, including:

  • Collection of Clothes - We will send one of our drivers to collect clothes and any personal items from you directly, or alternatively can dress your loved one in a funeral gown
  • Appearance - Following a reference photograph, our mortuary team will respectfully follow all instructions for hair, makeup, shaving and their general appearance
  • Private Chapel Viewing - If you wish to spend time with your loved one before the funeral, we will coordinate this for you within one of our local private viewing chapels
  • Embalming - Whilst not always required, our mortuary care team can embalm your loved if requested or if required in some circumstances

Funeral Administration

We are here to ensure the process of organising your loved one's funeral is as simple and stress-free as possible. Our team will always be on hand via phone, email or whatsapp message to answer any questions and specifically we will help with the:

  • Registration - We will provide the number and details of the local registrar, with advice on how to register your loved one's passing
  • Legal Paperwork - We will coordinate the legal funeral paperwork including liaising directly with the medical professionals and completing any forms on your behalf
  • Funeral Booking - We will liaise directly with the venue, crematorium, cemetery or any third party involved to book all of your services requested for the funeral
  • Estate Administration - Please let the team know if you require any support with your loved one's estate. We can provide advice and connect with legal professionals

The Venue

Where you choose to hold the service for your loved one is a personal choice and you may not be aware there are many options to choose between including:

  • Crematorium or Cemetery Chapel- This is the traditional option with most crematoriums and cemeteries providing a 30-60 service in their chapel
  • Church Chapel - You may also choose to hold a service in a Church - if you do not already know where you would like to go, please let the team know and we can coordinate this for you
  • Alternative Venue - Whilst the first two are traditional options, there are many beautiful and bespoke venues where you can hold the funeral service. Please ask the team for advice on the options available
  • Your Home- And finally you may also choose to hold the service at your own home, bringing your loved one back home one final time
FUNERAL PLANNING

Funeral Officiant

A funeral officiant will help you to plan and create the service content for your love one’s funeral. They will spend time listening to you, learning about your loved one and building a structure for the day. We can help you to find a suitable a person. This may be a:

  • Religious Officiant: Such as minister, vicar or priest who will lead a specifically religious ceremony
  • Funeral Celebrant: A celebrant is non-religious but can include some religious content such as hymns and prayers
  • Humanist Celebrant: A humanist celebrant will specifically only lead a fully non-religious service

Please let the team know if you would like support in organising the wake after the funeral. We have lots of experience, local knowledge and relationships with various venues who will welcome you and your family.

We will start by asking your requirements, such as the number of people, catering preferences, parking, timings, location, before then suggesting a number of venues for you to choose between

Funeral Choices

There are so many ways to personalise a funeral and to make sure that it reflects the life and choices of your loved one. Our team will help you with every aspect of the arrangement including choices for:

  • The Coffin - Whilst a simple wooden coffin is perfect for many, there are lots of other options from environmentally friendly wicker baskets to exquisite american style caskets or even a personalised print as shown
  • The Cars & Procession - Again for many the traditional black vehicles are just right but if you are looking for something different there are many styles, colours and types of hearse available too
  • Funeral Flowers - You are welcome to use your own florist or prepare flowers yourself, however we can also coordinate beautiful bespoke arrangements with our talented funeral florist
  • Urns For The Ashes - Following a cremation the ashes are available in a simple wooden container however we also have a wide range of beautiful urns that we can provide for you
  • Anything Else Requested - Whether you have seen something elsewhere or you have your own idea for the funeral, please do not hesitate to run this past the team so that we can help you

The Ceremony

Typically a service of between 30 - 60 minute will take place in a chapel prior to the cremation or burial. For the service, we will help to coordinate:

  • Artboard 2 copy Music & Hymns - Traditionally an organist may play however like with all aspects of the funeral, you can personalise this however you wish. It could be your loved ones favourite songs, a live singer, a jazz band or anything you choose. We will coordinate and book all music for you.
  • Digital Tributes - Depending on the facilities, we can coordinate a single photo display, a slideshow or even to play a video during the service
  • Live Webcasting or Streaming - For anyone who may not be able to attend in person we can stream the funeral live on to a memorial page for them
  • Printed Signs or Photo -You may also wish to have a printed display for the funeral which may be a photo of your loved one or a welcome sign
  • Artboard 2 copy Memory Book and Others -There are lots of smaller touches that can help to personalise a funeral including a memory book for people to share their memories or perhaps a coloured ribbon for attendees to wear

Please let the team know if you would like support or advice with the administration of your loved one's estate. We can provide you with advice if the affairs are more straightforward or we can also connect you with expert legal professionals if the administration is more complex .

Simple & Virtual Funerals

There are many reasons people choose a Simple Funeral whether that is specifically by request from the person who died or perhaps to keep the costs of the funeral down. Whatever your reason, we have a number of options for you to choose from so that you are able to provide a dignified farewell for your loved one. This includes the option to host an interactive virtual funeral service through zoom, giving other the opportunity to still feel part of the day.

All paperwork and administrative processes taken care of

When a person dies, the paperwork, admin and everything you need to do can feel overwhelming. We are here to take some of the pressure off and to try and make everything as simple as possible. Our support includes:

  • Booking with Crematorium, Cemetery or Burial Ground - We will liaise with your chosen venue to book the funeral. This may also include support hold a funeral ceremony at an alternative location.
  • Liaison with Doctors - If required will liaise with doctors on your behalf for completion of medical cremation certificates known as Cremation Form 4 and Cremation Form 5
  • Funeral Paperwork - Depending on your choice of funeral, we will also advise and help you to complete the necessary paperwork, such as the cremation application or burial application forms.
  • Fulfilling Your Funeral Choices - Using our online funeral planning platform, you will be in control to make all of the decisions around the funeral together with your chosen officiant. Once you have confirmed your choices with us, we will liaise with all third parties as required to ensure that everything is in place for the day. This includes everything from a bespoke selection of coffin or hearse, to your choice of flowers or music for the day.
