Remembering Burnell Tucker: My fondest memory of Burnell was when he would visit St John’s, Newfoundland and my wife, Carole, Burnell’s sister, and myself would have a great visit. Burnell was always the gentleman and he would often explain facets of his acting career which allowed him to meet and know many notable people. Burnell had a fascinating career and was a great family man as well. He was most proud of his daughter Tam and son Rob, two delightful people, who were great supporters of their Dad. It took some courage and daring to leave Newfoundland , as Burnell did, and travel to London, England for an acting career where Burnell met his wife, Shelley, who predeceased him. My thoughts and prayers are with Burnell and his family. He was an impressive Newfoundlander and a first class family man.

Our sincere condolences to Tami and Rob and family. We’ve donated to Parkinson’s UK in memory of Burnell, and we remember Shelly too, of course. We have some lovely memories of shared meals, joy and laughter over the years from 1970s Wimbledon until now, with much discussion of plays and films seen. Memories to be treasured.

Uncle Burnell was my father’s oldest brother. My father Gerry spoke of him with such high regard as a child. I had the pleasure of meeting my uncle Burnell on several occasions as he visited Newfoundland over the years. My son Ethan even had the opportunity to speak with his great uncle Burnell a few months ago after we had watched both Star Wars movies that Burnell had a small role in as an actor. He was always so kind and someone I admired greatly throughout my life. I offer my deepest condolences to both my cousins Tammy and Robin for their loss.

My deepest condolences to Tammy, Robin and family on the passing of Burnell. Burnell was my uncle and brother to my father Gerry. I saw Burnell on his occasional trips back to Newfoundland over the years and always enjoyed the time I was lucky enough to spend with him. Always pleasant, knowledgeable and easy to talk to, I certainly repected and admired the person he was. Growing up, my father always spoke highly of Burnell and I remember thinking how unique and amazing it was to have a well known and accomplished actor in the family. Again, my deepest sympathies at this time and Burnell will certainly be missed. Grant Tucker

Dearest Tammy & Robin. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad. I have many amazing memories of your dad while we were growing up. He was wise, a gentleman and very handsome. I loved spending time with you all at your house ( and with your amazing mum too) and it was a privilege to have known him. It must be so hard for you both. I lost Dad just over a year ago to cancer and organised his funeral – it was so hard. I’m so sorry I can’t come to the funeral as I am in Devon currently and not back for a week. But I’ll be watching the funeral online live. Love and big hugs to you both. Fiona
