Dr Chris Dealwis (Criantha Godfrey De-Alwis Jayasinghe), was born on the 13th September 1964 in Colombo, Sri Lanka and passed away on the 9th July 2022 in London, UK.
Having completed his PhD at London’s Birkbeck University in 1991, under the supervision of Professor Tom Blundell, Chris was an accomplished scientist dedicated to helping alleviate human suffering. He completed research fellowships at the University of Yale and the University of Tennessee before taking on a role of Associate professor in structural biology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
As well as Chris’s academic achievements, he also supported national and foreign Christian ministries in helping orphanages and people living in poverty.
Chris leaves behind his wife Martha Dealwis, mother Shirlene Phillips, brother Nilhan De-Alwis Jayasinghe, sister Samantha De-Alwis and many more nieces, nephews, aunties, cousins and friends he loved dearly.
