Obituary

About Hugh's Life

Hugh was a much-loved Father and dear Friend to many.

Born in Ballinamore, County Leitrim, Ireland to Tess and Hughie, on 7 th
March 1954, he was the youngest brother of Seamus and Patrick.

Having grown up in Ballinamore, he decided to move to England in search
of a career in banking and moved in with his auntie Nora and uncle Frank
in Bickley. He helped Frank with his decorating business to begin with until
he was able to secure a job with Barclays, which began his long and
fulfilling career with them for over four decades.

Hugh married Kate in 1998 and they had Ella in 2004 and Nancy in 2007.
His daughters were his absolute pride and joy, and life.

Hugh was a keen gardener and nature lover and was often to be found at
his allotment, especially during his retirement years. A talented all-round
sportsman, with a flair for Gaelic football, he also refereed regularly for
local football clubs in and around Bromley. He was an ardent Crystal
Palace football fan and cricket follower.

Those who knew him, or had the good fortune to meet him, knew straight
away what a gentle and kind man he was.
He leaves a huge gap in our lives and will forever be loved and missed.
