Princess Philomena Maria Fajemisin was born on the 26th of March,1942 at Warri General Hospital in Nigeria to the family of Pa Ojoalo Idehen of Benin and Princess Obine Jane Emiko of the Itsekiri Royal family.
She was from the Royal lineage of Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ginuwa the II who reigned from 1936 to 1949. Her grandfather’s royal title was Ogiame Ginuwa, the second. Emiko is the family name. She was the Great Aunt to the current Olu of Warri, Prince Tsola Emiko.
She attended Convent School, Warri where she obtained her primary 6 certificate and proceeded to St.Teresa’s College, lbadan for her secondary school education where she obtained her GCE O Level Cambridge Certificate. She received her Secretarial Certificate at Western Region School, Ibadan.
She travelled to England to further her education and enrolled at Bolton College of Technology, Manchester where she obtained her Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Administration. She also attended School of Television Production, Strand, London and earned a Certification in Television Production. Princess Philomena Fajemisin went on to further her studies at the National School of Salesmanship, National House, Manchester where she received a Diploma in Sales Management and Advertising. She attended the Institute of Purchasing & Supply, London and attained a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply. She changed her career and enrolled at the School of Nursing, Manchester where she obtained a diploma in Nursing. She worked for various Hospitals and Nursing Homes in England.
She met her husband, Prince Adewale Charles Fajemisin in llesa. She got married to him at the Parish Church of St. Mathew Kensington, London Boroughs of Hammersmith on the 10th of September 1966.
She relocated to Nigeria and worked with Major & Co. Pharmaceuticals as the Medical Representative, at Apapa in Lagos. She worked at Palm Chemist Limited, Ibadan as an Assistant Purchasing Manager. She had great love for business and distinguished herself in various ways in Television and Radio Information Programmes for children, which eventually got her a job at the Ministry of Home Affairs in lbadan.
She worked for Volkswagen of Nigeria Limited, Badagry as the Purchasing Manager and earned a Certificate in Purchasing at the Volkswagen Technical Training Centre, Germany. She worked for Delta Steel Company, Owvian Aladja town, Warri as the Manager. She was a business woman who had a Boutique & Clothing store in Surulere, Lagos.
Princess Philomena Fajemisin was blessed with five beautiful children, Adewemimo, Fadeke, Adekolapo, Ayotunde, Adeseke and grandchildren to the glory of God.
May her gentle soul rest in peace. Sleep On Mum, till we meet again and part no more!
