The family wishes to extend deep gratitude to all, for the prayers, support, comforting messages, calls, flowers, cards and gifts during this time of bereavement.
The funeral service will be an invite only small gathering of close family, at my mother’s wishes. As part of the funeral service, a live webcast will also be broadcast over the Internet. We ask anyone wanting to pay your respects to join us at the wake.
We would like Susan’s funeral to be a celebration of her life, a celebration of the life she lived. As a result, we do not want people to wear black clothing. If you would like to make a donation to Trinity Hospice, we would appreciate it.
The wake will be held at The Spencers pub in Putney. I have a special place in my heart for a pub that my mother and I used to visit as a family. We spent many happy hours there, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. I know she would have wanted us to remember her in this place. I hope you can join me in celebrating her life at the wake. We will provide food and drinks from 12.45-4. We would be delighted if you could join us and remember and celebrate the memories that you had with Susan and share it with us.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Oldroyd, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and valued friend to everyone she met. Susan was born on December 1, 1954, and departed this world on July 11, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound loss in our lives.
Susan was a woman of great integrity, kindness, and compassion. Her love and devotion to her family were unparalleled, and she always placed their needs before her own. She was the proud mother of Arian, who brought immense joy to her life and Laura and Harriet’s loving presence only amplified this happiness. The love they shared was a shining example of family unity.
As a grandmother, Susan adored her grandchild Harriet. She showered her with affection, wisdom, and unconditional love. It is through Susan’s teachings and guidance that her grandchild will always carry a piece of her spirit forward.
Throughout her life, Susan found purpose in her work. She dedicated her time and efforts to the retail industry, where her skills and dedication were greatly appreciated. Susan’s presence lit up the room, and her warm demeanour made each interaction memorable.
Susan’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Let us remember her as the caring and nurturing soul that she was, forever etched in our minds as a beacon of love, compassion, and resilience.
As we gather to mourn our loss and celebrate Susan Oldroyd’s remarkable life, let us find solace in the knowledge that her legacy lives on through her loved ones and the impact she made on the lives of those around her. May her soul rest in peace eternally.
