Obituary

About Sylvia's Life

Sylvia lived a full and happy 87 years and was a loving wife to Albert Chapman and wonderful mother to Barry and Jason. She was also a doting and proud grandmother to her two grandchildren, Gabby and Kieren, always appreciating their company, visits and achievements.

Whilst in her later years her mobility was restricted, she maintained regular contact with her brother and sisters and the wider family, never missing a birthday or special event, and being the glue that held the family together. She was always positive and had a can do attitude to life. Even in her 87th year she had a resolute determination to carry on taking holidays and enjoying life to the full as if she were 20 years younger.  Up to the end she remained independent, proudly cooking and cleaning for herself, and flatly rejecting the idea of going into any other type of accommodation. She bravely soldiered on in the face of a number of ailments, and remained positive in her attitude to life up to the very end.

Over the last few years Sylvia enjoyed card making and crafts, and raised money for charity through the donation of cards to local charity shops and coffee morning events. The Macmillan foundation was one charity that she regularly supported. We would appreciate any donations to go to this wonderful charity, as this was something close to her heart and gave her a number of special memories based around the events she attended.

Sadly lost so suddenly, Sylvia will always be missed.
