Blackrod Cemetery is the smallest of Bolton's seven cemeteries, situated on Manchester Road in the village of Blackrod on the western edge of the borough. Opened in 1887, it is divided into three traditional denominational sections — Church of England, Roman Catholic, and Nonconformist — and recorded approximately 3,097 burials up to 2007. It serves the rural communities on Bolton's western fringes.
