City Road Cemetery opened in 1881 and is Sheffield City Council’s largest cemetery, covering about 19.8 ha. Located on City Road, it includes a crematorium with two chapels (old chapel seats about 200 people and new chapel about 100). The cemetery offers new burial plots and cremated remains plots and has a dedicated Muslim burial section and Roman Catholic sections.
New graves at City Road Cemetery can be dug for 1881+ internments, allowing future burials in the same grave.
Grave leases are provided from 50 years, with extensions usually available from the cemetery.
