Dunham Lawn Cemetery is Trafford's most recently developed cemetery, having opened on 30 July 1963, and is located immediately behind the Altrincham Crematorium on Whitehouse Lane in the Dunham Massey area. It is the only Trafford Council cemetery that currently offers new grave plots and is the only one with a dedicated Muslim burial section. The cemetery features a Children's Garden for stillborn and baby burials. Funeral services are held in the adjoining Stamford Chapel at the Altrincham Crematorium, which accommodates approximately 140 mourners with overflow screens. The site is accessible by bus 247 and is approximately three miles from Altrincham Metrolink and rail interchange. Memorial restrictions limit headstone heights to 2 feet 6 inches in standard sections.
Grave leases are provided from 50 years, with extensions usually available from the cemetery.
