I’m absolutely devastated by the loss of my dear friend. She was the kindest, positive, uplifting, genuine friend I ever knew. No amount of words can explain the value I had for our friendship. I’m honoured to have known her for 20 years… I send my deepest condolences and prayers to all the family. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace, in the safe bosom of the Almighty. Amen

So sorry to hear Lauretta passed, she shared very kind messages to my Dad Tony Harewood before he passed recently, I’m sorry that I didn’t get to see her to thank her x hope she’s at peace now x

She was a generous, warmhearted, caring, educated, beautiful lady. Rita was a big part of my children’s lives too. Always interested and invested in their growing up. You were the kindest, sweetest soul. From when we met at our aerobic instructor course about 23 years ago….I knew you were special!!! Boy did we laugh!!! Through the ups and downs of life, late night chats at 2am, phone calls that went on for hours, laughing and joking at everything life threw at us, instagram chats, voice notes…..through really tough times where there were tears, and happy celebratory times too….. a truly wonderful friend…. a true soul sister!!!! I will miss you immensely. I will never forget you. Absolutely Heartbroken

Lauretta Johnnie you were, and still are, a much loved member of our yoga community, we are so sad to hear of your passing. We will miss your voice notes and positive vibes. The words that came out of your mouth during your final teaching practice class for your foundation YTT (picture of you in full flow), will stay with me forever: “Teach people to move from a chair and you can change their life” – June 2022 We’ll deeply miss your physical presence in our lives, which despite being an online presence was a huge one. On a personal note after training with me you joined my mentoring programme, and made wonderful plans for online classes and a membership to help those that struggled to move and get out of the house. Last time we spoke you were close to making this happen and I’m am so sad it never quite made it into physical form, but know that you already did enough to encourage all bodies to move and I will continue to make yoga training accessible so we can move to an industry that better represents all humans.

Lauretta,  From what I heard, you were the essence of the beautiful melody in the rhythm of the lives of those you encountered. The majestic euphony of your life lives on. Surely, the vitality of a well-lived life never dims and the blessings of that good life lived follow you into heaven. I almost had a great opportunity of meeting you, sharing meals, refreshments, revivals and the passion of unrestrained laughter with you. It is not easy for me, knowing that, as you have been such an important part of many lives, I must now face it; I have missed a serendipity, a path toward your splendid company, to share a refreshing hug and say that I love you.     It meets the needs of the occasion to unveil this: Among the abundance of greatness Victor Mathurin your great grandfather brought forth, you had not only burgeoned but you left your mark, your great contribution dedicated to the legacy of a marvelously sustained bloodline that spans the four corners of the world. Your glorious and most courageous mother, my dear cousin Rhoda, I’m sure, will see to it that your children and grandchildren, her grands and great grands are without reservations able to navigate to the warmth of our Mathurin bloodline assembly. I cannot help, the memory of having knowledge of your esteem will forever be in my heart.  There you go, leaving; You are really leaving? I have known Lauretta from high school days. The beautiful soul she was. Fast forward we came back in contact through my sister Lorraine and Raymond, we always kept in contact We last spoke in July about family life and how we are doing. Lauretta you have gone to soon but god knows best so take your rest until that bright arisen day.

Condolences to Lauretta’s family. To me she was more than just a friend. She had an infectious naughty laugh, gave incredible advice, was intelligent and witty.
