Robert Knight

My deepest condolences to Rob’s loved ones. I did not know Rob very well, and did not have the opportunity to spend enough time with him, but the memories I will keep from him are only linked to laughter, positiveness and kindness.

You made your family so proud, Rob, in everything you did. We have fantastic memories of holidays with us in Scotland, when you and Phil were boys (which one of you was it that lost a trainer while running down a hill and just kept on going through the mud, barefoot?), frightening your mum as we all jumped up and down on a very rickety suspension footbridge over a burn, quite a few years later you and the lovely Laura slightly pissed and falling asleep in the sun (yes, sun, in Scotland!) at the Blair Castle Horse Trials, our shared love of cheese, your fabulous wedding with so many friends, your gorgeous kids, in whom you live on, and a brilliantly funny photo of you with them at Maddy and Stephen’s wedding, to name just some. You are a star that shone so strong and bright, but sadly not long enough. So much love to all you leave behind x

An absolute legend on and off the pitch. Having the pleasure to play alongside him and share a few by special footballing memories, he will be remembered fondly amongst us all.
