Ann Weekes

The times I met Anne I made a number of observations. Firstly, ever since she learned I was Swedish, she called me Sven. She knew that wasn’t my name, and yet this is the name I went by. She always made sure Rob and I had plenty of snacks and drinks for our sometimes rather long video gaming sessions. I remember one time I stayed for dinner and she made these amazing cod fritters. I have tried to make them myself a few times, but they never turn out as delicious as Anne’s. Or as spicy, for that matter! In short, when I think of Anne I remember kindness and how welcoming she always was. And her cheeky sense of humour.  I’m so sad that she’s gone. My heart goes out to her lovely family and friends. Dear Uncle, Selina, Gemma & Bobbie I sill can’t believe it.. Still lost for words. My condolences to you all at this sad time. Ann was such a lovely, kind and loving person with such a great sense of humour and a kind word for everyone… Ann, you are gone but you will never be forgotten. You will be forever in our hearts. Anne radiated warmth and a maternal love with everyone. Not a trait that can be learned but one that is a natural gift. Her kindness and warmth live on through her lovely children, who we are sending our biggest love to, along with Gerry, at this very sad time. X

Ann was a wonderful, warm person and a great friend especially to my late mum. Ann will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Ann has physically departed however will remain in our thoughts. Sending deepest condolences to Gerry, Bobby, Selina and Gemma xx

Dear Ann, Although,I knew you were fighting cancer, it was such a shock to hear of your passing! May your gentle soul rest in peace You looked after Chelsea J( 18yrs) and John J (7yrs) at St Thomas Hospital Nursery, you were gentle, calm and kind to my children, both children did not settle initially at the nursery but your advise and support was appreciated. You cared for them as if they were you own children! You even made a song with John’s name! My goodness you will be missed but we have the reassurance that, one day we will meet again and you are now in a much better place where there is no more pain. Ann, you will be dearly missed! Rest peacefully

What a truly special lady with a heart of gold. We can never thank Ann enough for the love, care and attention she showed to both Ben and Zoe during their early years, whilst at St Thomas’ (particularly Ben). I was privileged to work alongside Ann for many years – she was always the ultimate professional and cared for all the babies/children as if they were one of her own. She will be sorely missed but I know her legacy will live on within her own children. RIP Ann (so sorry we couldn’t attend) ❤️ all our love Deb, Ray, Ben and Zoe xxxx
