Azeez Adeshina (DOTSTAR)'s Life Story
Adesina’s passion for music led him to take a gap year at Brunel University to immerse himself in his creativity skills. He later earned a BSc degree in Digital Media from Middlesex University. Alongside his studies, he worked as an IT Engineer for various companies, showcasing his all-around talent. He also launched his clothing brand, OTSCLO, merging his artistic vision with his entrepreneurial spirit.
Dotstar became a beloved figure in the music world, particularly in the early grime scene in Northwest London. His songs “Stick Up,” “Xpensive,” and “She’s Killing Me” resonated with many and earned him a place on the popular urban network Channel U. Adesina’s influence and charisma extended beyond his music in 2010/2011, He made history by being the first black UK artist to perform in Nigeria at the imperial Awards.
More than just a musician, Adesina was a beacon of kindness and generosity. He was a godfather to twins Temilade and Tiwalayo and supported children in Africa with their education fees, embodying the spirit of giving. His warmth and genuine nature touched everyone who knew him, making his passing an immeasurable loss to his friends, family, and the music community.
Dotstar’s legacy is celebrated through heartfelt tributes and condolences shared worldwide on social media. He was a pioneer and a legend in Northwest London, a man whose contributions to the UK music scene were profound. His fusion of music and business acumen has left an indelible mark, inspiring future generation artists to follow their dreams with passion and integrity.

Reading this had my eyes slowly swell up with tears. I wish I could turn back the hands of time and prevent this from happening. You have lived a life filled with purpose and kindness, yet it is still too short, for you had so much more to offer and could impact many more lives. Big Brother Adeshina, I miss you dearly. Thank you for living a life that many of us would aspire to. Thank you for sharing with us your joy and happiness whenever you could. Your memory will forever remain in our hearts, and we will strive to continue your legacy, inspiring more and living more for others as you did. “For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.” – Romans 14:8 We find consolation in knowing that my big brother Adeshina (Dotstar) is now with the Lord, in a place of eternal peace and joy. His life was lived in service to others and God. To my Big Mum and Dad, and my brother, Damilola, please accept my deepest condolences. I cannot imagine the depth of your sorrow, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you always and the Lord grants you the fortitude to bear the loss of our brother. This is our comfort, that he rests in the presence of the Almighty, where there is no more pain or suffering. His spirit and love will always be with us, and we will honour his memory together.
A person that departs from this earth never truely leaves, but are still alive in our hearts and minds. Ade, you may have gone too soon, but your memory will forever be in our hearts. You are an inspiration to us all, you were full of faith, courage and strength.To say you are going to be missed is an understatement. Your death is a sort of reminder for us to cherish one another and hold tight to the bonds of Family. We wish you farewell in your journey to eternity. Ade, Dot, my dear friend. Thank you for always being you – a man with integrity that stood on your principles. You embodied nothing but love – an honourable and admirable individual with strong morals and a genuine heart; I hope you can feel the love you gave to others, reciprocated.
