It is with great sadness that I write this message. I was saddened and shocked to hear about Barry’s departure. My condolences to his family, children and friends. May Mr Prince as I called him now rest in peace. Once again my sincere condolences
Absolute shock and sadness at Barry’s passing. So many happy memories of watching football and cricket with Barry, Neil, John and of course Tony. Hours and hours just chatting and enjoying everyone’s company. A true gent who always had time for everyone and asked after friends and family in the most genuine way. A great human being. We’ll miss you. RIP Barry
Writing this message while on the way to Ascot for a day at races, memories of Monday morning discussions of seeing the next greatest horse that weekend, goodbye Barry. I hope the kids know they had the greatest as their Dad. Gary
Really shocked and saddened by Barry’s passing. He was a much valued work colleague, who helped anyone out when it was needed. Rest in Peace Barry. YNWA.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your brother, our thoughts are with you John and family at this very sad and difficult time. I hope the love of your friends and family with bring you all comfort. Rest in peace Barry ❤️ Louise, Simon and girls
Brov… I still can’t believe I’m writing this. It feels like I’m trapped in the worst kind of dream, one I can’t wake up from. My mind keeps drifting back to us growing up—the laughter, the mischief, the epic moments we shared. You were my role model long before I even understood what that meant. Other than Simon Stainrod, you were my absolute hero. At school, you were the best at everything—football, cricket, athletics—you even smashed it academically. And no one dared mess with you. You had it all. I’ll never forget walking through those school corridors, hearing people whisper, “That’s Barry Prince—he’s on QPR’s books.” Or “That’s Barry Prince—the cross-country champ.” You never bragged, never needed to—you were too humble for that. But me? I wanted the world to know you were my big brother. I was bursting with pride. Teachers used to look at me and go, “Oh… you’re Barry’s brother? What happened to you, then, young John?” It was a tough act to follow, but it felt incredible being in your shadow. One of the best perks of having a superstar big brother? Getting out of school early to go watch you play for QPR! Absolute result! But nothing topped the day you played against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Youth Cup I remember sitting there thinking, “My brother’s on the pitch playing against Man Utd… and I’m skipping double maths. Life doesn’t get better than this!” You always looked out for me, kept me on the straight and narrow when I could’ve easily veered off. I owe you so much—hell, I probably wouldn’t have gotten my CSE Grade 1s without all those revision sessions you pushed me through. You wanted me to succeed… and you made me believe I could. There are so many memories, I could write an eleven-chapter book. Watching our beloved QPR reach the FA Cup Final together… going mental at Highbury when Clive Allen scored in the semi… playing in the same football team with you and Neal when we were in our prime—those moments were magic. You were the godfather to my daughter. We shared holidays, birthdays, everyday memories in a home full of love. I was So lucky—to have two amazing brothers and a bond that never needed words. And now? I can’t make sense of any of this. With all the horrible people in this world, why you? Why would he take someone so good, so kind, so humble, so devoted to his kids? You didn’t deserve this ending. Not by any stretch. I’ll carry you with me every single day. I promise you this—I’m going to live harder, love deeper, laugh louder. I’ll do it all with you in my heart. Because I was blessed to call you my brother. I love you forever, Barry. Absolutely gutted.
It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to not just a dear colleague, but a true friend. Barry was one of the kindest, most genuine souls I’ve had the privilege to know. Always ready with a helping hand, a warm smile, or a comforting word, he made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His willingness to support, listen and simply be there was a gift to us all. Barry was more than a colleague; he was family in the workplace. His compassion, dedication, and gentle nature will be deeply missed, and his memory will continue to live on in the many lives he touched. We will miss you Barry! My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who loved him. May he rest in peace.
Best Dad Ever
I am so shocked and sadden to hear of Barry’s death. He was a very dear friend and colleague. Barry was kind, helpful and would always say or do something to make me smile or laugh out loud, especially if he saw that I looked down. Sending my love, thoughts and prayers to the family.
Wow, how is this possible, can’t believe I am writing this. Mr Prince but more like my KING, certainly the best boss and dad I ever met but much more than that, a true, loyal, kind, humble, non judgmental, handsome, intelligent and amazing & very funny man I had the pleasure to work with for many years and become a good friend with, simply the best. so sorry Bazza, fly high and rest up mate, will forever remember you, luv n hugs to the girls and your family
I still can’t believe I’m writing this on the way to your funeral, Barry. It feels unreal, and I truly have no words to describe the weight in my heart right now. You weren’t just a colleague to me. You were like a big brother. Someone I looked up to, admired deeply, and leaned on during my hardest days. You were always there! present, kind, and full of wisdom. I’ll never forget how you supported me through the two lowest moments of my life. That’s something I’ll carry with me forever. You spoke about your daughters with such love and pride, it was beautiful to witness. And when I told you I was expecting a girl, your joy for me was so genuine, so warm. That’s just who you were, always finding time to care, to encourage, even in the busiest moments. I still read your Teams messages, Barry. Your words, your humour, they haven’t left me. Your last words to me were, “miracles will never cease.” I hold onto that now more than ever. I will miss your funny emails, your comforting presence, your wise advice, and the way you always made people feel seen and valued. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with your beloved family during this unimaginable time. May they find strength in the love you gave so freely and the legacy of kindness you leave behind.
You can measure the love you felt for someone by the size of the hole they leave in your life and Barry has left a huge hole for so.many A quiet man, he took his pleasure in seeing others happy. A kind and caring friend who would always be there. Truth is we looked up to Barry from the first day we met him. Never stopped. He has presence and the truth is things were just better when he was there. We will all miss you. But you will never leave us.
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Barry. He was not only a valued colleague but also a dear friend to so many of us. Barry had a rare gift—he was endlessly kind, always made time for others, and truly listened with care and compassion. Barry will be profoundly missed. May he rest in peace, knowing how much he was loved and appreciated. With heartfelt condolences, Halimah
I was honoured to pay my respects to Barry today. One of the most wonderful people you could ever wish to meet. I only knew barry since 2019 through work but he had a lasting impression on me in the 4 years we worked together, and I considered him a mate. You could never meet a gentler soul and lovely man, he would just put anyone before himself. His brother mentioned below that he played for QPR. This just sums up how humble Barry was for me as i never knew that. Throughout the few years I knew him, and we talked about football a lot, he never once mentioned this. I was always bragging about golf and football but he was always listening to me and never boasting about himself. Truly, he should have been bragging, because he was a giant and I wish I could be half the man he was. I looked up to him and I hope his family are so proud of him. He was so loved and still is. Thank you for everything Barry and im sorry you never got to meet my daughter. I will miss you mate
I’m lost for words, I’ve just heard of your passing Mr Prince it’s been 21 years since we worked together but I’ll always remember you for your kindness and being a lovely work colleague. May you rest in peace. Viv – My sincere condolences to you and your family, may you take strength from all your memories. Much love xx
Goodness me! I have just heard the news. The last time I saw Mr Barry Prince was in 2000; we worked together across the desk from each other, he was the most easy going and such a wonderful person to work with. Barry Prince was also one you could also as crack jokes with while at work. My condolences to the family and prayers that the priceless moments you shared together will keep you going. The Lord is your strength.
Words fail me to be honest. Honest, hardworking with a great sence of humour. I don’t know of anyone certainly not myself with a bad word against him. My condolences Viv to you and your daughters. Barry will be sorely missed.
