Colin Storton

Colin and Sue were the best friends anyone could have. This picture was taken on a cruise around NZ when they were both in great health and lots of spirits! Love, John & Lynne

I have many fond memories of my Uncle Colin. I remember him being kind, thoughtful & fun to be around. I remember him all those years ago having one of those very old Bubble cars. The front of the car used to open outwards & he would climb in it. As uncle Colin was so tall this was an amusing thing to watch, as his head would almost stick up out of the sunroof. Uncle Colin was very good at playing board games & jigsaws etc with his great nieces Louise & Helen. He was a very good great uncle to them both & I know they will miss him too. Uncle Colin & his late wife Sue often looked after our mad Springer Spaniel Misty when we went on holiday. She was quite a handful & not very good walking to heel on the lead. Even though uncle Colin was over 6 foot & strong, it would end up with Misty taking him for a walk! Ian & I have been to many boozy dinner parties at uncle Colin’s & Sue’s house in Sundridge Park. Your glass was never empty for very long!! Many a good time had by all!! Ian & I have enjoyed many times out with Uncle Colin & Auntie Sue in London & locally trying out different restaurants. These were often a boozy event. It is so very sad that Uncle Colin is no longer with us. May he rest in peace. With love, Claire & Ian xx

I have many lovely memories of my Great Uncle Colin. We had pently of laughs round the table when we all meet for a meal often involving having a good drink. My husband Gary and our children Emily and Oliver also have very fond memories of him even though they only knew him for what was a short time. He will be sorely missed by many espically by family. I will always keep Colin in my heart, a special, thoughtful man who gave happy times to a lot of people, not least Sue, who richly deserved happy times. A happy memory from the photo booth at Mark and Giedra’s wedding xx

I have very fond memories of Great Uncle Colin. I remember hearing about his stories sailing and how he and Sue loved going on cruises. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace now he is with Sue. Love Louise x

Colin, one of the last real gentlemen, a kind heart, always there, consummate host. He leaves us personally with many years of memories from the time he first came into Sue’s life. Such a laughter trail, especially in Spain where  he and Sue frequently visited us.  Colin we will miss you dearly, and you leave a footprint across our hearts on your way to Sue.

Colin was a great friend to our family. He and Sue were wonderful support to our mum when Pap passed away….priceless. They were actually honorary de Ridders in the end….rest in peace Colin and many thanks.

I have many happy memories of Colin. He was the steady rock to Sue’s impetuous, exhuberant vibrant self. I can still see him falling asleep at the dinner table, much to Sue’s frustration! “Colin…wake up!” She’d reprimand him….but all water off a ducks back. They were both extremely kind to my mum when Pap passed away and it was lovely to know they were keeping an eye on her. We all appreciated their friendship very much and they were really honorary de Ridders. Rest in peace with the love of your life…although, it was never peaceful with Sue around.
