David Yaw Ebuh's Life Story
David Yaw Ebuh Carr passed away on June 13th, 2022.
He was born on May 26th, 1938 in Obusai, Ghana. He moved to London as a young man attending Nottingham University, where he studied Engineering.
He met Clara Ama Serwah Wilson and they were married in December 1970.
Having spent many years between London and Accra, building a business in Ghana, David eventually settled in London a few years ago. Until recently, he lived in Wood Green, North London with Clara.
Following a number of mini strokes and a subsequent diagnosis of vascular dementia, he moved to Autumn Gardens, a care home in Southgate, North London in February 2021 where he quickly settled and made his home.
David was a warm, gentle, kind, peace loving and sociable man who loved his family very much. He was described by many who would encounter him, even briefly as ‘a lovely gentleman’. He was always generous with his time, care, support and encouragement of others.
Married for 51 years, David will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Clara, his three children, Jemima, Abena and Akua, his two grandchildren, Yasmin and Darrien, and his wider family and friends.
He was loved by so many.

Brother David, as he’s known and called by the Carr family, was a kind-hearted, loving and caring gentleman. Even though we’re first Cuzs, He was more like a dad and and a Mentor to me due to the wide age gap between us. He was very generous with his time in supporting me in my late teens as a young man, we shared many jokes, some in “codes” only understood by us. His invaluable advice and pleasant moments we shared will be treasured in my memories forever. Rest in peace in the Bosom of your Creator, the Most Supreme God who created the universe and everything therein. ❤️ Godfrey Carr ❤️

Mr David Carr, favourites known to me as Bro David will always respond to my phone calls with giggles of laughter as a joy of hearing from me. You inspired and help me in the publishing and printing of my first book(let) “The woman after God’s heart”. As family you said we are brothers and sister not cousins whenever we were being segregated as Fathers children and mothers children. You always used your business to enhance our family events. Now that you are gone, we pray your good works to continue to command God’s blessings upon all your family, for future generations to maintain their own course of dedication to God’s work for every given opportunity. sorting through some old documents today, I found uncle David’s address and decided to look him up. I am so sad to discover that he has passed away, and especially so recently. Uncle David was a dear dear friend of my late Mum and Dad (Elizabeth and Colonel O.K Bonsu), and was always so kind. My very sincere condolences to auntie Clara and the entire family. Seiwa Cunningham
