Dennis's Life Story
Dennis passed away unexpectedly from a cardiac arrest on 13th March 2022, aged 74, at his home in Camberwell, South London.
Dennis will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially by his daughter Victoria with whom he had a close relationship.
Dennis was born and raised in the east end of London. He came from a large family and was always surrounded by many relatives and friends. Bethnal Green was the place where he lived, worked, married and had a child of his own. He later moved over to south London where he ended up staying until his passing. At the time of his death he was still employed by the NHS and was working full time at the Maudsley Hospital as a night porter. A job he really enjoyed and held since 2001.
He worked throughout the pandemic, never missing a shift. Ignoring any risks to his own health and stated on numerous occasions that he would rather be at work doing something, than sitting at home doing nothing.
Dennis led a fulfilled life. He was adventurous, he loved animals, all sports, especially football, playing and watching. He was a IifeIong ArsenaI supporter. He loved going to the theatre, which he had done countless times over the years and loved music with a passion.
Dennis always lived his life the way he wanted to. If he had any regrets, he never spoke about them and preferred not to dwell on the past. He was a strong willed and determined person. If he had something to say, he would definitely say it.

(5)My memories of Uncle Denis. Trips over Highbury with his mate Teddy, watching him play for Copenhagen over Hackney Marshes, Cossack hair lacquer, Pelliccis Cafe and Tobias Jones Clothes shop. He always had time for me and I never felt unwelcome, goodbye and thank you for the memories.
Me and my Dad in Ibiza. Knowing him, this photo was probably taken after one of the epic walks he used to make us go on. I was probably moaning at the time! But looking back I wouldn’t change anything for the world.
I have lots of memories of our married life together, especially when Vicky was younger. We had a very full and busy life as a family. Lots of time spent together going to West End shows, visiting family, where Dennis would enjoy playing sports with the kids, especially kick about football, going on many caravaning seaside holidays, having fun on the beach and generally making the most of everything. Holidaying abroad with our friends was always a great experience as Dennis really enjoyed being in company. The same When we used to go out with our friends of a weekend, Dennis always enjoy himself and be in the thick of things, he was very much a man’s man and enjoyed having a laugh and mess about with his mates.
Farewell Dennis I never had the pleasure of meeting you, however I heard all about you throughout the years from your daughter Victoria what a woman! A wonderful woman at that a total credit to you. I know she will always keep you memory alive, in turn you will be guiding her through the rest of her life. sleep well Dennis rest in eternal peace
Dear Dennis, I miss you and I hope you watching over all of us from heaven. You were always so kind and keen to help others and always looked after me and the other nurses in work. Ellie and I, remembered you today and all of us including Lucy, Rebecca we always remembered you with a smile on our face. You are missed and I wish you were still here to give me advice about life.
