Mum was born in the Isle of Skye back in 1941 when her family were evacuated in the war. Mum had three lovely sisters Jean, Pat and Sue.
Mum did various jobs in her past including Lolly pop lady, cleaner, child minder, shop assistant in a school clothing shop in Dulwich and then in Savacentre working firstly in cashiers office and then on the shop floor until she was around 72.
Mum was such a clever lady; able to make clothes, wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, knitted jumpers, wedding and birthday cakes etc. Mum went to evening classes at the local school when I was young to improve on her sewing and also attended cake decorating classes. Mum could also decorate, I learnt to decorate and wall paper myself after watching Mum doing it. When Mum was away on holiday some years back I secretly decorated Mum’s living room, even put up paper as well and its still there to this day (so could not have done a bad job). Me and Ellie also surprised Mum when in hospital in the summer months and decorated her hall way for her and stayed there until 1am in the morning to get it completed before she returned from hospital the next day. Mum absolutely loved it. Mum could basically put her hand to anything. What a clever talented lady you’ve been Mum.
Mum loved watching TV with her favourite soaps with a nice cup of tea. My Mum was such a friendly lady and when out shopping we would have to stop and talk to so many people on the way that we would end up being out for hours and hours and never got the time to actually do some shopping. My Mum could sit for hours in front of the TV and all I could hear would be the clinking of her knitting needles as she knitted away. It was so sad to see recently she was so frustrated that she had forgot how to knit. Mum recently wanted to knit a little dog for Ellie and was so sad she could not remember how to do it, she kept trying and would not give up. Mum adored Ellie so much, she called her a little angel. Now you are our angel Mum in the sky looking down on us and making sure we are all okay.
Miss you so much Mum you was such an amazing Mum, Nanny, Sister and friend to so many.
