Obituary

About Henry (Harry)'s Life

Henry (Harry) was born in Cork in 1938 and he spent his early years in Ireland before moving with his family to London.

A deeply religious man who held onto his faith throughout his life, which gave him great comfort. He worshipped at St Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Archway where he was well known.

Harry enjoyed a long career in various roles in several companies, latterly as a messenger for a number of years before finally retiring at the age of 77.

An avid sports fan, Harry particularly loved football, he was an Arsenal supporter and watched his team regularly on TV. He also enjoyed other sports, particularly following Boxing and Horse Racing. His knowledge of boxing was incredible and he could talk you through all of the greats over the last 50 years. Harry was an expert on Horse Racing and could recount many horses and jockey’s. He would follow the form guide in the paper followed by a walk to the bookies to place his bets, something sadly he was not able to do in later years.

Harry fought a long and courageous battle with cancer but sadly lost his battle on 21st April, 2023. Throughout his illness he was always very positive and drew on his faith, and was focused on and concerned for others.

He will be remembered for his faith, strong sense of family values and his quick wit and humor.  Harry will be missed by many and he leaves his wife of 55 years Maureen, his brothers and sisters Kathy, Tom, Joan and Bill and his many Nieces and Nephews. We pray he will rest in peace.
