He was born the youngest of 4 children and throughout his life lived in Wales, Athens, Paris and finally settling in London with the love of his life Babis after their travels and adventures.

Ian was just such a gorgeous man, with the most infectious laugh and giant heart. He will be sorely missed – by me, by friends and family and our little Lilibet who will never be quite the same again without him. Our deepest sympathy to Babis (who is in our heart and our prayers), his family and his friends – each of whom have loved a gem of a man. Ian was sharp , witty & delightful company , effervescent & lovely to be with. Irreplaceable & unforgettable. The news of his sudden passing created deep shock waves which I still can’t get over & my affection for him & Babis just multiplied even more. A very dear & esteemed friend who I wished we could have seen more of & alas wonderful memories of our raucous laughter together will prevail until the next time we meet. Ian was (and still is) one in a million and the one thing I noticied from very early on was he never judged anyone, from seeing cans of baked beans in the boot of my car, to my 12 year trip around the world and back and always at the end of the month in the early days writing my so called “dodgy cheques” for dinner he would always say “Perks be yourself and live your best life” – Ian I most definately have – good advice for any soul on a journey – go fly high and be with the ones we love xxx Lizzie and Mr Mooms xx
I first met Ian in the early 1970s through our mutual friend Betty. He was the absolute best company and I have such wonderful memories. He was always up for a bit of fun, including when we dressed him up as Nureyev – I love this photo! Dearest Ian. What a kind and generous true friend you have been. I can hardly bear the thought of never seeing you again, but feel so very lucky to have known you. Love, as always
