Biography
Isaura was born on the beautiful island of Madeira, where she spent her early years surrounded by the love of her family. She cherished her childhood with her brother Joao and sisters Maria, Laurantina, Filomena, and Celestina, often reminiscing about walking to school, attending church, and the simple joys of family life. Isaura had a quiet love for music, she enjoyed playing the harmonica when she could and often sang softly when she thought no one was listening. Her joyful spirit and kind heart made her a beloved colleague during her many years working at the Chesterfield Hotel, where she was known for her warmth and cheerful nature. She was a devoted mother to her four children; Jeanette, Ludejero, Diana, and Euzebio whom she raised with strength, love, and guidance, helping them grow into the strong individuals they are today.Family and Legacy
Isaura is survived by her husband Luis, sisters Maria, Filomena and Celestina, children Jeanette, Ludejero, Diana and Euzebio, grandchildren Ty, Thomas and Thea, and extended family, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and joy. She was a cherished sister, a loving mother, and a treasured friend. Her presence brought light into every room, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her.Service Details
A funeral service to honour Isaura’s life will be held at the location, date and time below. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a woman who gave so much to those around her. I met a warm, joyful, funny, eccentric woman whom I called mum. I loved her sense of humour and fun. I am blessed that she gave me one of my best friends Amelia. In turn that opened the door to a beautiful warm and loving family that have always embraced me and made me feel welcome. What a beautiful legacy mummy Batista you have left behind and I feel honoured to have witnessed it and been apart of the journey. I never really called you Isaura, you were always Māe to me. A truly wonderful soul and a real force of nature. Definitely a small but mighty and feisty one! Whilst my heart breaks for the loss to your family and friends, it also smiles with the memories of you. Coming in with Diana and having a chat, sitting down to dinner and laughing.
