He loved his daily walks to the shop for the paper to study the form for the horse racing, putting on his bets at the local bookies whilst slipping over the road to the Chatterton Arms for a pint of Guinness.
He loved family occasions when everyone got together but was equally happy at home watching the races with Billy the dog, who often shared his bed for the night.
