I met Jan when I started with District nursing team in 2018 and we worked together for 3.5 years. She always showed me kindness and had a cheeky laugh. So quietly spoken and kind. She was a support to colleagues in the team and myself as were we to her, through some of her hard times. We were a family through covid. Having deep conversations about how we felt about the situation and being there for one another. Special. She always spoke about Paul and her sons Craig and Elliot. Even though I have never met them, it’s like I know them through her. She was extremely proud of her boys. She was funny, had a cheeky laugh. She came into work with a little tint of colour in her hair, blue or Pink. She was a special soul with a big heart. These are only a few of the lovely memories I have of her, which I will cherish and feel blessed to have known her even if it was for a short time. I know there are many more from other people/ colleagues who will have their own to share. I will miss you Jan

I am still in shock and deverstated as I write this. Jan or “little Jan” to her colleagues was a beautiful person inside and out. Kind, gentle and caring, but with a cheeky laugh and funny sence of humour! Having worked with Jan for a few years it was a privalidge to have worked with her and known her. We spoke a lot about family, it was so clear how much she loved Paul and her boys. We also spoke a lot about where she was off to next as Jan loved her holidays and once they were over we would go through the pictures and she would tell me where she was thinking of booking next. Jan had a zest for life. She also liked her fashion and we would go through style options for events she had coming up! She has been on my mind everyday since I heard the news and I will never forget the kindness she showed to her colleagues and her patients. The district nursing community have lost one of there girls in blue and She will be so missed by the team and everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with Paul and there family at this difficult time  Rest in peace our little Jan ❤️ xxx

It’s heartbreaking to post this message! We are still in shock like many of you! Our paths first met in 1992 with Janice nursing my mum…. A few years later, standing at the gates of St Paulinus school, we looked at each other and said, “I know you!!” and laughed. “Coffee?” she said,” That was it true friends We met Paul, and our families have grown up together. We’ve never been apart. A natural friendship through thick and thin, whatever life has dealt. Our families have shared milestones, holidays, and so many memories. Janice was kind a genuine lady with a cheeky laugh, a beautiful smile, a soft soul. very supportive to all who were blessed to have met her she was one of a kind. A loyal friend. Janice, we will miss you more than words can ever express. Rest in peace, beautiful lady. we share some of our photos with you . It is with great sadness that I extend my deepest condolences to Paul, their sons, and all of Janice’s family. Janice was not only a cherished friend but also a remarkable individual whose presence enriched the lives of many. Our friendship began in 1978 when Janice babysat for me. This initial meeting blossomed into a deep and enduring bond. At 18, Janice embarked on her nursing career, a testament to her dedication to caring for others. During her leaves, we shared countless moments filled with laughter and joy. It was during one of these occasions that she met Paul. Their connection was immediate and profound, leading to a beautiful marriage nearly 40 years ago. I was honored that my daughter, Jenna, was chosen as one of their bridesmaids.  Janice was a beautiful person, both inside and out. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering friendship will be deeply missed. The loss of such a remarkable wife, mother, and friend is immeasurable. To Paul and the boys, my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. May the cherished memories of Janice provide comfort and strength in the days ahead. Little Jan was a very special lady! She was kind, funny and caring. She was my colleague and friend throughout my nursing career. She lived life to the full with her lovely cars, holidays and amazing weekends away! One of the funniest memories I have of Jan was when I called for assistance in a patients home. The lady had slipped off a chair and each time I tried to help her up, her little yorkie terrier rushed from behind the tv and nipped my leg. Jan was apprehensive about dogs at the time, but arrived at the house with an umbrella! She opened the umbrella and kept the dog at bay whilst I helped the patient. Lion tamer was obviously a hidden talent! God bless you Little Jan xx

I can not believe that little Jan has passed I’m in total shock i was a patient to the district nursing team & was my late husband John Lambert until Covid came around I often reminisce about the lovely team that used to come around I miss these days so much because each individual were very special to me Jan was so lovely softly spoken we used to share our short stories she would always give her Husband Paul & her boys a mention & the husky dog She was a truly blessed lady I will never forget you Jan you were taken far to soon much loved rest in peace condolences to her family & friends from Karen Lambert & 2 daughters Emily & Kimberley
