About Junior’s life…
Junior Garfield Johnson was born on the 18th August 1966 and sadly passed away on the 3rd July 2021. Junior was kind, funny, trustworthy, selfless and intelligent. He was humble and easy-going, a great listener and compassionate friend, brother and son.
He was born in Brixton, was educated primarily in South London and worked as an Editorial Assistant and Picture Editor for various publishing houses in the early part of his career. Over the years he changed his occupation and after working for various companies in differing roles he eventually started working and living in the London Borough of Sutton. His job in Sutton meant that he became a well-known person in the community. His professionalism, personality, approach and sensitivity lead to numerous accolades as well as recognition for the work he did.
Junior was diagnosed with prostate cancer in March 2020. Following the diagnosis Junior never complained or showed any self-pity. He remained hopeful and positive throughout his treatment. He lost his battle to this terrible debilitating disease just 6 weeks before his 55th birthday. His strength of character and stoicism are a lesson to us all.
The void which he has left in the lives of his family and friends is immeasurable.
Until we meet again. Rest in peace.
Death stops a heart from beating, but not a memory from loving.
