Junior was a wonderful friend, especially during our many years at Firebox. My overriding memories will be of someone making us all laugh, and his total positivity about all things in life. I will miss our phone call’s discussing all things football, and what is worth watching on Netflix. Rest in peace, and thank you for being such a good friend, you will always be in my thoughts.

To my friend Junior, where do I start? I will miss our banter every morning, our posh lunches and our moments of putting the world to rights. One of the kindest, friendliest and most genuine people I’ve ever known, you never tired in helping and were always there when needed. In your role with us you provided support to so many people and touched so many lives. I don’t think you knew just how fondly everyone thought of you. This community is somewhat less bright without you in it and you will be greatly missed by so many here in Sutton. We are all the better for knowing you over these years. Rest well my friend and thank you for everything you did. You will not be forgotten. RIP J x

We knew Junior through sharing offices in Sutton and found him the most caring, intelligent, nice man always full of joy and happiness. We are so sad that we will never see his smiling face again but are happy that we knew him. We are out of the country so cannot attend the funeral or wake but are glad we can watch the live stream. Our condolences to Juniors family and thank-you for the invitation. All my sympathy Paul. A fond memory of Junior was when I started cleaning for the Hub Sutton Junior would always stay behind to see if everything was ok and that I was safe. Most helpful ,thoughtful gentlemen. Junior You were a great no fantastic friend and Work colleague I miss the meals we use to have in the weatherspoons !. The phone calls we had and the ones when you had this dreadful cancer always cheerful and optimistic I remember that dreadful phone call we had when you rang and told me the treatment was not working I got I will always remember you my friend! no more pain you fought till the end RIP Junior Tom

Junior, we met while we were working at successful Sutton and hit it off straight away. We remained friends ever since. You were always a loyal, caring friend who made me laugh until my tummy hurt. I miss our marathon phone conversations so much. I still remember the day you gave me the sad news about your health. I never believed you would go. You handled the situation with such bravery I will admire that forever. My condolences to your family I am so sorry and send you so much love. Junior, I’ll always miss & cherish your warm kind nature & infectious laughter. I’ll always remember the wonderful time we spent working together at the picture desk in Highbury Corner and all of those little adventures we had when you came to stay with me in Wiltshire. And I’ll really miss the way we’d constantly take the mick out of each other. Bless you Junior!!!

Junior was an absolute legend. The kindest, gentlest giant one could ever meet. We met at Highbury House publishing company where Junior, myself, Becky and Will all worked as picture editors. We had so many fun times, in work and out at the plethora of trendy events we were invited to. I think it was our heyday.  I had many long chats with Junior when he was ill but he always remained positive and never complained about his situation. I thought he would be okay and we could catch up on time missed out. It was heartbreaking when we heard the news they could do no more for him.  JJ you’ll always remain in our hearts as the gentle, fun-loving legend you are.

If there is one memory of Junior that stands out, it would be the time my nephew ran up to him and hugged him, I’ve never seen him do that to anybody. He taught me about cars, and helped me financially when I was out of work. When I was working we road up and down the country to Scotland,Bolton and even a trip to Old Trafford found its way in there. He always spoke of culture and had a clear voice of reason. It doesn’t seem right that he is gone, but I’m sure he went out with the same solidarity he came in with. I will always remember him.

apologies did Mr Johnson work for KJP in Drummond Street in early 1990’s that young lad , was one of the nicest pleasant lads I ever met in my time in London , he had a lovely infectious laugh and smile Unfortunately I lost touch with him when he was ‘ stitched up ‘ by the company it’s always been a regret I lost touch but I lived north London , Junior in south London , and it was before mobiles . pete McMeekan
