Kathleen Ross

Auntie Kath was born at the end of the first world war. She had a happy early childhood despite the ravages that war had caused. In the second world war she joined the forces and, despite the conditions, gained self esteem and personal confidence. By the early 50’s she felt that the £10 Australian migration would give her new motivation and personal opportunity. She remained there until retirement. She would telephone 2 or 3 times a year usually when around the horn or the navy lark was on the wireless! 30 seconds was our allowance of conversation as nephews!! She sent great presents like boomerangs, well received She returned to the UK in retirement and found great comfort in the community of the church and her wonderful neighbors. She was much loved and we, the nephews and niece, the great nephews and nieces, and the great, great, nephews and nieces will miss her and cherish her memory. Thanks you for knowing her.
