Leslie “Little Man” Tyndale passed away on September 27, 2021 at the age of 85 and was a dear friend, son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and beloved husband of Joyce Tyndale.
He was christened Leslie Reynald Tyndale and born February 25th 1936 in the District of Williamsfield, in the Parish of Manchester, Jamaica and was the second-born, of twin boys born, to Wilburt Tyndale and Maybel Reid-Tyndale.
Leslie, at 7 years old, meet Joyce Fearon who later would become his wife, while attending Wesley School aka McIntosh Memorial in Manchester, Jamaica. He grew up to enjoy working with his hands training as a carpenter.
Looking for a better life, Leslie arrived in London, England in 1961 and obtained employment with British Railway. He worked in railway station maintenance, driving all across the country and was even sent abroad. He worked until retirement in 1994.
Leslie enjoyed retelling stories of growing up in Jamaica, watching wrestling (Big Daddy, Giant Haystack and Mick McManus were his favourite wrestlers), playing cards and dominoes particularly with his brothers, making things with his hands, traveling and helping his friends when the opportunity presented itself. In his later years he enjoyed being an active member of and attending his church College Park Baptist Chapel and enjoying cooking for his grandchildren.
Leslie was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge, patience and guidance was the foundation of his family.
His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile & fortitude.
Leslie will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce; children, Garry ( & daughter-in-law Fiammetta Veronesi-Tyndale) and Doreen (& son-in-law Kevin Lyles Jr); grandchildren, Ariana, Yasmin, Jordan; siblings, Horace Tyndale (twin), Roy Tyndale, Frank Tyndale, Leroy Richard, Winston Richard, Winifred Tyndale (deceased), sisters Ena Dixon, Masie Saunders (deceased), Enid Tyndale (deceased) and numerous other family members and friends.
