Dearest Karen and family, With the heaviest of hearts, I am so sorry for your loss . Lucia was a massive part of my life, close to almost a mother figure. I personally will miss her so much and can only hope that in time we will be able to celebrate Lucia and her amazing spirit and love for life, she was an incredibly resilient women. ♥️

Lucia was a rare person with an immense capacity for love and compassion. At the same time she was a force – no wonder she was called terremoto (=earthquake) when she was younger. A tiny ball of energy with a great fighting spirit. Our workplace will be a much poorer place without her. Wishing the family strength for the uphill path ahead. x

Lucia was such a kind and caring friend. I loved listening to her stories about her growing up in Columbia. Spending time on her uncle’s ranch, riding the horses and the parties at her parents house where she would just dance the night away. My thoughts are with all of her family at this very sad time. Maria Lucia loved dancing. Carnavals, Musicals and Strictly Come Dancig. She danced at Queen Mary’s Undercroft Greenwich, won the Dance Marathon at The Royal Festival Hall. She couldn’t miss the Dances round the World Camden Town. Her love, kindness and humility are already missed.

Kind, supportive and sharing are words that come to kind when thinking about Lucia and the more than 25 years we knew eachother: Sharing of thoughts of “back home”, Colombia and Netherlands, the growing up of our children and ofcourse the fun with dance in all forms and with big smiles. What a good time we had in those days. I am grateful to have known you. May you rest in peace today.

Querida amiga! Compartimos por mucho tiempo nuestros hijos, fiestas, paseos, tristezas, alegrias, nuestra cultura, bailamos en el grupo Raices Latinas, fueron muchas cosas lo que vivimos pero por circustancias de la vida cada una nos alejamos y cuando te encontre ya fue impossible verte, pero amiga, siempre te llevo en mi corazon y nunca la olvidare! Recuerdo de María Lucia su gusto, afición y alegría por el Baile, en Neiva, bailando, la canción, ‘para la gente Londres”de Nelson y sus Estrellas, pasó muy contenta, no hay palabras proporcionadas a un gran dolor pero las personas solo mueren cuando la última de las personas que la conocieron no desaparezca, por lo que siguiera en la memoria.
