Marcus Kibel
Marcus's Life Story
Marcus was born on January 09, 1965, in Melbourne, Australia to Dr Colin and Elise Kibel. Marcus grew up mostly in Melbourne where he graduated from hunting tower high school. After graduation, he attended Swinburne university of technology, Melbourne where he earned a B.A in psychology and sociology (1988). He attended Monash University, Melbourne (1989) and graduated with a Diploma in educational psychology. He continued on at Monash University for his Master of Forensic Psychology (1993). He was a member of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) He worked as a mental health assessor in Brisbane, Australia, as a senior forensic psychologist in Queensland Department of Corrective Services and had a private practice.
Marcus migrated to United Kingdom March 2003, (his ancestorial home in the 1800s). He became member of Health and Care professions council (HCPC) and continued his career journey. Marcus was very proud of his commitment to working with forensic patients the past 20 years.
Marcus yielded the call and gave his life to Jesus Christ in 2007. Devoted his time to serve in the church, completed theology and Christian counselling courses. His strong Christian faith helped shape his outlook on life. He believes and see hope in everything and everyone. He supported Demelza charity. Marcus battled many health conditions, but it never stopped him from living life to the fullest. He used his free time to write a novel (Conundrum), enjoyed travelling, cinema, and enjoying different culinary cuisines. He is survived by his wife (Tracy), his aged parents (Colin and Elsie Kibel), his siblings Nigel and Vanessa, his uncle, Aunts, nieces, and nephews.
Marcus was a devoted loving husband, son, brother, and uncle and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of his life service will be held on August 31 st , 2023, 10: 00 am at; Eltham crematorium, Crown Woods Way, London SE9 2AZ. Refreshment at St Mary’s Community Centre, 180 Eltham High St, London SE9 1 BJ.

Growing up Marcus and I were always close. He was my best friend. We used to go out together to nightclubs see movies and we even went on holidays. We always stuck up for each other. When I got married to Antoinette who I met through Marcus he was also my best man at our wedding. At Marcus first marriage I was his best man. Marcus firstly moved to Queensland and then the UK and with time and distance for a number of years we talked less. I wish we had remained closer, but life gets in the way. Over the last 5 years or so we started talking on a more regular basis in the end referring to each other as big and little Bro we had started on the journey of building our friendship that had once been so close. He had a deep belief in God and I hope that he is in heaven with God. However I do not understand why God had to take him at just 58 when he believed he still had so much to achieve. Rest in Peace little Bro. I will never forget you and believe that many tasks were not completed for both of us.

Marcus we will miss you. Right from our student days you were always loyal, would stand up to injustice and kind hearted. A true friend. These qualities you carried in your life and in your work will also be remembered by those who got to know you and were dear to you. You still had so much to give and achieve in this life. Taken too soon at 58 yrs. You were guided strongly by your faith that we know gave you so much comfort. We pray that you are now at peace and in the safe keeping of our lord. Dear Marcus, there were 2 years between us and as we were closer in age than Nigel and I, it was you I played with more, as a child. We would sit together for hours painting your soldiers in the sun. I’ll always remember giggling at the dinner table, making dad very uptight, but we couldn’t stop! They were fun times. As time went by and you moved away, we kept in touch less but were always there for one another. It made me happy to know you had found god and aligned with a religious faith that gave you comfort, meaning and support. Of course, this lead to Tracy, which made your life complete. I was always so proud of your work ethic and qualifications, a testament to pure grit and determination…helping others was always on your agenda. Your uplifting and constant support of my art career meant so much, even when your life was difficult, you always had lovely things to say. I will always thank you for your support and I know that I am flourishing now, partly because of you. Rest in peace lovely Marcus, till we meet again. Vanessa
Dear Marcus, I remember you as good friend when we served at church from my time in London. You were very chill and always had time time for chat. You were very welcoming and we were able to spend time with you and Tracey at your house and meeting up. I will always remember you as a good friend with time to hang and be a friend. We never got to meet in person. I was really hoping for that. The few times we spoke together on the phone told me you had more than just a Heart of Gold. I wish you had stayed a bit longer. I would have taken you round the Jungles in Nigeria. Rest easy Marcus. You will always be in our Hearts.
