About their life…
Born on 4th November 1935 in Conwy, North Wales, Margaret Joan Pitt was the eldest of 4 children.
As an evacuee during the war, at the tender age of 5 Margaret was sent on a train to live with her Grandparents in Talke, North Staffordshire.
By the end of the war, Margaret returned to her parents care living near Finchley, North London.
Margaret worked most of her life in the travel industry as a Travel Advisor and a Lecturer in Travel and Tourism. She had a lifelong interest and passion for Geography and places in the world.
Margaret married her partner of 59 years Donald Brett in September 1963 having met him whilst on a day trip to Paris. Together they went on to visit more than 60 countries including many cruises and travels to interesting places.
Margaret and Donald spent most of their life living in Tavistock Square, London. Margaret had two brothers and a sister and many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who all enjoyed visiting her from time to time.
Margaret died on 20th September 2022 at her home in London. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband Donald and her brother Derek.
Margaret was a unique and loveable character and she will be missed by us all x
