Dear Junior (Michael), It’s hard to put into words how much you meant to all of us. I was lucky enough to know you through our time working together at G-A-Y Bar, and from the very beginning, you brought light, laughter, and warmth into every shift. We shared so many laughs some over the most ridiculous things and those moments have become treasured memories. Your stories were unforgettable, whether they made us laugh, gasp, or think, they always came from a place of wisdom and experience. You had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, and your presence was magnetic. The life you lived was remarkable, and it was an honor to be even a small part of it. You’ll be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Thank you for the joy, the laughs, and the memories. Rest peacefully, my dear friend. With love always, Beth Spresser
I knew junior, he was a kind and helpful person. It’s still hard to believe that he is no longer with us. Me and Jason had many Good night’s in Soho with Junior and I Will remember those with fondness. I pass on my condolences to his family and Will always remember him wherever I am
While scrolling through posts relating to my own life, I was saddened to learn of Michael’s passing six months ago. I knew Mick (as he was known then) from about late 1983 to late 1987. I was working as a support worker for young people who had experienced ‘ living in care’. Mick was someone I worked with in Cranhill, Pollokshaws and other tenancies in Glasgow. Although he was an unusual character, it was clear to me that he had a good heart and spirit. He put a level of trust in me and I tried my best to be worthy of this. His was a hard life then but he rarely complained. He preferred to laugh things off and regale me with his wild and wonderful stories. He was somebody I hoped to meet up with again. I’m sorry it won’t happen. God Bless him.
