London
Olajumoke Morohunfolu Ologunmeta departed this world on 16th June 2025, at the young age of 51. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, grace, and unwavering strength.

Mrs. Jumoke Morohunfolu was born into the family of late . Edward Olu OJO and Late Dcns. Mrs Esther Oluremi OJO on November 10th 1973 in Benin-city, Edo state.

Her father hailed from the Oshomo family and her mother from the royal Oke family, both from Igbara Oke, ifedore local Government area of Ondo state.

Mrs Jumoke Morohunfolu Ologunmeta, who is the second born in the family, attended Ebenezer Nursery school and later proceeded at Agbado primary school (1980-1985), where she obtained her first school leaving certificate. She later furthered her secondary school at Saint Maria Goretti Girls Grammar school (Sept 1985 - July 1991), where she completed her secondary education and sat for her West Africa school certificate examination. Continuing her academic journey, she studied at Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti, where she laid the foundation for a life defined by resilience, ambition, and care for others.

Olajumoke’s journey of love and family began when she married the love of her life, Festus Olutope Ologunmeta, in a traditional ceremony on 2nd October 1996. Their union was later blessed and celebrated in a white wedding on 5th August 2005. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, faith, and warmth. A devoted and nurturing mother, she poured her heart into raising their three children: Dolapo Rachael, Janet Omolola, and Edward Ajibola. Her children were her pride and joy, she lived and worked for them, teaching them the values of love, humility, and hard work through her example.

In pursuit of broader opportunities for herself and her family, Olajumoke bravely migrated to Europe at a young age. In this new chapter of her life, she continued to embody diligence and grace, all while remaining deeply connected to her roots. A woman of many gifts, she found her sanctuary in the kitchen, where her love for cooking and baking flourished. It was in this space surrounded by aroma, colour, and joy that she came most enthusiastic. She never seemed tired when preparing meals for loved ones; it was her comfort zone, and her dishes were filled with care and soul.

Aside from her culinary talents, Olajumoke Morohunfolu found peace and clarity in nature. She enjoyed frequent walks, often using them as a way to uplift her spirit and connect with the world around her. These walks became a quiet ritual of joy, reflection, and serenity.

A God-fearing woman, Olajumoke lived her life anchored in faith and humility. She was a respectful daughter, a joyful spirit, and a constant source of light to those who knew her. Her mood was rarely anything but cheerful, and she approached life with warmth and sincerity. Friends, family, and neighbours describe her as loving, caring, compassionate, and genuinely down to earth. Wherever she went, she managed to lift others up, often with nothing more than her bright smile.

She departed this world with grace and dignity, leaving an imprint on every life she touched. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength. Although she is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains ever present in our hearts and homes.

Olajumoke’s kindness and strength will forever remain in our hearts. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, husband, extended family, and everyone who had the honour of knowing her.

GLORIA OBAZUAYE7 Jul 2025

Farewell, Olajumoke I never imagined that our last conversation in May would be the final one. It still feels surreal — the silence where your laughter once lived, the emptiness where your vibrant presence used to fill the room. No one calls me “auntie” like you did. No more early morning messages with NSPPD links. No more random check-ins that always left a smile on my face. Your departure came like a storm, sudden, unexpected, and deeply painful. It shook me to my core. Losing you has left a void that words can’t fill. Jumoke, you were light to so many. You were loved deeply, sincerely, and endlessly. I only wish I had told you that more often. Rest peacefully, my dear. You will forever be in my heart. Never forgotten. Always missed. Always loved. And know this, your precious Janet and her siblings will always be cared for. They are not alone. Your love for them lives on through us, and we will hold them close, just as you would have wanted. With all my love. Auntie Gloria AKA Akus’s mum Bedford

Lubna (Lulu) Folu, my sister. I have known you for a short while, but it seems long. You always call me ‘ your sister in law ‘. I always laugh when you used to share jokes about when you visit Nigeria saying how you chase all those ‘girls’ around your husband, and they were scared of you. Rest in peace, my sister. May perpetual light shine upon you. You will be dearly missed. Till we meet again.

Ojo Obafemi Oluwayomi7 Jul 2025

My dearly beloved sister. Olajumoke Morohunfoluwa. You created a huge vacuum in my heart. I can’t imagined that you are dead. I’m still finding it difficult to believe. We discussed through out month of May and the first week in June. No signal was affirmed to me that you going to meet your creator. Well, I have no power to challenge God. All I know and thought about is that everything is known by the owner of your life. My prayer is that God should forgive all your sins and accept you into HIS HOLY PLACE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD. It’s appointed for all of us to die. But none of us knows the time and season meant for us. I pray that, the meaningful period you spend for touching life and familes will accrue for you in HEAVEN IN THE PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS CHRIST ❤️. I love you my darling sister, God loves you the most. Till we will meet at the RESURRECTION DAY,Jumoke, Biola and daddy and mummy should sleep in the right hand of Jesus Christ . Shalom.

*A Heartfelt Tribute to Mrs. Olajumoke Morohunfolu Ologunmeta (Nee Ojo)* It is often said that words fail when hearts are full—and today, my heart is heavy with sorrow, yet full of gratitude for the life you lived. Mrs. Olajumoke Morohunfolu Ologunmeta, saying goodbye to you is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. You were more than just a good person—you were a beacon of kindness, a rare soul who brought warmth, wisdom, and peace wherever you went. To me, and to so many others whose lives you touched, your presence was a blessing. Your life was a reflection of grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. You gave selflessly, loved deeply, and walked humbly. And though we grieve your passing, my consolation rests in the deep conviction that you lived a just and godly life. > “The memory of the righteous is a blessing.” — Proverbs 10:7 You leave behind a legacy that time cannot erase—a life filled with quiet strength, dignity, and goodness. While we mourn the loss of your earthly presence, we rejoice in the hope that you now rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of the Almighty. > “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15 May the Lord in His infinite mercy grant your soul eternal rest, and may He comfort all those who feel this loss so deeply—your family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. May He surround them with peace and give them the fortitude to bear this great and irreparable loss. Rest well, Mrs. Olajumoke. You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Big Sis Jumoke’s passing. She was a kind and generous soul who showed our family so much love. I’ll always remember how she was the first to gift my dad a phone — a small act that meant so much. I wish I had known that when we saw her last November, it would be our final moment together. Her warmth and presence will be greatly missed. As her burial approaches, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. May her soul rest in perfect peace. With heartfelt sympathy, Omotolani Akintunde

Each and every time I think about it, I still can’t believe it my aunt is no more. When I first heard the news, I couldn’t believe it. I just knew you couldn’t have left us like that. But when everyone kept saying it… I’ll never forget how we spent the holiday at your place those were some of the most beautiful memories I have of you, and I’m so glad we had that time together. Like they always say,  there’s always a life of the party  and that was you. Vibrant. Joyful. Jovial. Always happy. Always amazing. I remember how you always called and checked up on me and my sister over here always texting, always calling. There was even a time we talked for over an hour. Those little moments meant so much. Life is truly dear, and we have to cherish every moment. Now I know you’re resting in God’s bosom, with your Creator. Until we meet again, you will always and forever remain in my heart. You’ll never be forgotten. Love you always, Aunt Jumoke. Rest in God’s perfect peace. ️

Venerable Olayiwola Ogundare, esq.10 Jul 2025

I fondly remember visiting Benin in my youth and staying at my great Uncle’s house. Daddy Nepa was what we called him back then. That was when I was blessed to meet my big cousin, Aunty Jumoke. What a kind, jovial, and very expeessive lady she was. She always fawned over us and fussed over everything we did. I will never forget your kindness and the conversations we had both then and subsequently as we grew older. She seemed so happy, so fulfilled with life, marriage and her beautiful children. Death is but a portal of separation and I know we shall meet those who died in righteousness again. I shall console myself with the fact that though you left too soon, you are forever in our hearts. Sun re o Aunty mi, till we meet at JESUS’ feet. A maa mo ra wa, a o yo mora wa. JESU lo maa je ALAGA wa. May GOD comfort your family on this painful loss.

*TRIBUTE TO OLAJUMOKE MOROHUNFOLU OLOGUNMETA.* *(NEE OJO).* I write with so much pain and a heavy heart these few lines about my primary school class mate popularly called Jumsky. I recalled with nostalgic memories of the times we had back in the days of our primary school in Benin City, St James’ Anglican School (Agbado Model Primary School) back in the late 80s , we were opportuned to have met and got to know each other as classmates. Life metamophosed us back together again after we left our primary school in 1985 and got reunited around 2015 through the social media.  We had so much to talk about the life we always dreamt of and how the journey wasn’t too smooth, but we gave God thanks for seeing us through difficult moments.  Jumsky, had so much passion for our group and contributed her quota meaningfully when financial needs arose.  She was a dedicated Christian and lived a fulfilled life despite her brief stint on Earth, to me heaven has gained.  Adieu my Jumsky… Till we all meet on that resurrection morning and never to part no more.  Penned by: Douglas Obamedo Woghiren.  ……………………  Ampsa President.

St Maria Goretti Girls Grammar School Class of 9117 Jul 2025

Dear Jumoke,  It is hard to accept that you are gone and that we will no more hear your contagious laughter. Your beautiful smile, charisma, unique features, and disposition even made you more beautiful and lovely. Ah! Jummy! This indeed is a very hard one to bear. You were always the lovely one, bubbling with life and vigor.  You reached out to all, gave of yourself and your finances whenever there was a call for support you heeded it.  You were there for all; the saying:  “All for one One for all” found expression in your selflessness.  Jumoke space will not suffice to pour out our hearts but we are comforted in the privilege of sharing precious time and space with you our dear sister and friend.  Rest on till we meet again.  Class of 91 St Maria Goretti Girls’ Grammar School, Benin City.
