Pete, I will always remember you with all my heart and great fondness from the first time I met you in Latchmere to other time working together in PMU. I could almost cry with laughter at the way you told some stories including some memorable events that couldn’t be written. First and foremost you were a very loyal and very caring person and I will never forget our conversations about your car and trying to locate the battery, the inept estate agents and our sharing our dismay and bad choices with fantasy football! I can’t imagine the pain your family is feeling through your loss. You left this earth far too soon but may you rest in peace. Love always Sanjeev xxx

Uncle Peter, so many memories of you growing up, I always thought you were just amazing and have fond memories of you throwing me in the air at the swimming pool and putting me back onto the banana boat in Tenerife. You were are terrific uncle, such fun to be around and we will miss you forever. Until we meet again ❤️RIP

Many walks around green park at lunch time with Peter, dare I say we shared quite a few beers on our walks. Ill miss his sense of humour most of all. A very sad loss. R.I.P my dear friend.

Regrettably we didn’t have that overdue round of golf or that last supper in the Laughing Halibut but I still have many fond memories of you Pete. The running around St James’s and Green Park during our keep fit phase; our shared sense of amazement when our golf ball went where we intended it to go; our daily review of the fantasy football standings and the false stories going around about injuries and suspensions; and of course your holidays which you loved so much. You were a great friend and colleague and I will miss you like mad.

Pete you will be greatly missed it was a privilege to serve with you at wanno a great mentor and a wicked sense of humour, we had some very very funny times in reception, rest easy pal your shift is done

My best friend, my brother, I have so many wonderful memories to cherish that span more than 45 years, from Peter being on the radio for causing a traffic jam on Deptford Creek on a Friday night rush hour to putting to much oil in Debbie’s car and having to stay an extra night. If I wrote a book I’m not sure it would be believed. Some of the things we got up to were hilarious and I’m thankful for those times. We were so close he even came on the second half of our honeymoon which luckily Clair agreed to but she had to draw the line when she became pregnant with our first child as Peter offered to go to ante-natal classes and be her birthing partner! When I think of him I remember all the laughs and Peters sense of humour, he was so funny. Peter was also an amazing Uncle to my two daughters Charlotte and Eloise teaching them how to ride their bikes and roller skate and so much more. There is now a massive void in our lives, so rest in peace my brother until we meet again….. I love you

RIP Pete !! I used to absolutely love our shifts together in PMU! My favourite memory is your 25th work anniversary drinks when you slept on the train all night!! A proper old school bloke with a heart of gold!! You’ll be missed mate xx

My uncle, a hero to me growing up, Ryan Steph and I would always be buzzing knowing you were coming over, I have such good memories of all the times we shared together, even the time you chased me round the hotel room in Tenerife because I hid in your wardrobe, creased your Armani gear and scared you half to death you never could catch me. thank you for always being there at every milestone , thank you for being a great uncle and good friend. I’m glad you found your happiness with Debbie and I’m so sorry that you were taken way before your time, I will miss you uncle Pete x

I was Pete’s Senior Officer at feltham remand centre on nightingale unit for several years. He was a great man brave strong and a force to be reckoned with. I met him briefly when I was in the Police after I left the Prison Service and he had become a Senior Officer at Wandsworth. To me Pete was one of a very few true unsung heroes who held the line in difficult times in the job. You could always rely on him to have your back. I live in France so sadly cannot attend his funeral but my thoughts are with you all at this tragic time. The news of his passing has truly shaken me and his presence shall be missed by all that he effected in his life. Bless you and rest in peace love Gordon Milligan (Spike)

Uncle Peter, I always looked up to you from a young age. You inspired me to follow in your footsteps as a prison officer. I have some great memories and I don’t know how you coped with me and my brother Adam. One particular memory was on holiday at Tenerife, you had to share a room with me and Adam. How you coped through them nights of no sleep with us tormenting you is beyond me. Then we would get you into trouble with Nanny blaming you for our little tricks. Sorry Peter.  Another memory was the Bruce Lee quotes you would come out with. They always made me laugh.  Thank you uncle Peter for all these great memories. I will truly miss you. Rest in peace. I will really miss my dear friend and colleague – what a fantastic and lovely guy Pete was! We worked together during the crazy old days in Reception at Wandsworth then at PMU, he always had my back! His professionalism, loyalty, camaraderie and friendship were incomparable. Gone too soon you – will be missed xx
