I lost a wonderful person recently. A kind, gentle, warm, friendly, caring person, loved by everyone, who loved and cared for everyone. Naturally, I’m recalling all we experienced over the decades, our friendship, sharing our troubles, him being there for me when needed, winding me up big time, preparing meals together, parties, BBQs, arguments over his driving, over whose Yorùbá was most fluent and praying together and for each other, I’ve got them stored in my memory bank. It’s painful right now but one thing I have realised is that I have been blessed to have had a wonderful person as a true friend so I give thanks to have been blessed to have had Ronald Ogun in my life. For anyone who reads this, be thankful for those you love, don’t take it for granted, cherish every moment and enjoy them, it’s true tomorrow isn’t promised. Ronald “oni jogbọn” Thank you.
