The family wishes to extend deep gratitude to all, for the prayers, support, comforting messages, calls, flowers, cards and gifts during this time of bereavement. We also send our condolences to you who were close to Sean throughout his life as well.
There will be no formal wake following the service. Once Sean’s plot/plaque has been arranged, a small gathering will be arranged for family and friends.
About Sean’s life…
Sean was the youngest of 4 children, born to Darette Effonia Johnson. His siblings, named David Johnson, Anthony Johnson and Charlene Johnson.
Tragedy played a part in Sean’s early life, as the passing of his mother, meant all siblings were separated at a very young age. Sean and his brother David were kept together and went into the care system.
Sean possessed a somewhat wild spirit, and many referred to him as defiant even from such a young age. Sean also possessed a charm, there was a real appeal, charisma about him. He was very smart, had a thirst for knowledge and was always reading.
When he entered his early teens, it was clear that his rebellious nature had taken hold and it was evident that he was showing signs of mental health issues. At this stage it is most unfortunate that Sean was not given access to the help he clearly needed.
Sean was clearly very unhappy at this point and went on to have many brushes with the law through his late teens and his early twenties. Sean served his time and was committed to reform and getting back onto the right path, an honest path, that would see him thrive as a father and he endeavoured to lead life as a good role model for his children.
Later in his adult life his mental health declined quite rapidly, and illness took hold. He became withdrawn and would be somewhat elusive. Many were there for Sean and so many others tried to support him. Efforts were impounded by the fact that Sean would often disappear for periods of time and it would be difficult to track him down.
What is clearly apparent, is how Sean touched the life of so many. He is referred to as ‘family’ not just by his relatives, but also, by his many friends. His energy, his cheeky smile and loving nature are but a few of the many characteristics that drew people to Sean. He will be dearly missed.
