The family wishes to extend deep gratitude to all, for the prayers, support, comforting messages, calls, flowers, cards and gifts during this time of bereavement.
On behalf of Shahi family, we would like to thank you all for attending. It is with heavy hearts, we would like to announce the passing of Mrs. Sunu Shahi, a doted and loving wife, mother and a companion. Daughter of Amar Bahadur Amatya and Mana Laxmi Amatya, Sunu was born and raised in Palpa Tansen, Nepal. With heightened sense of community wellbeing and philanthropic motives, Sunu selflessly committed herself in her days in Nawalpur in raising awareness among the community people and fought for equal education rights in young girls so many decades ago.
Sunu spent some years of her life in Brunei, where she taught in a school. She has touched so many lives beautifully by motivating and helping. A fierce fighter at the times of adversity and challenge, she was a monument of love, patience, sheer determination and devotion. She was forever there for her family and those who needed her. She encouraged everyone to live a joyful life, herself being fun loving, outgoing and merry personality. Her conversations were lively and she motivated everyone to live a purposeful life. An avid gardener, rose was her favourite flower and her weakness. She loved horse riding and sports shooting during her younger age. She was an adventurous person indeed. In her home in Kathmandu, to this day, many fruit trees, flowers and plants are thriving which have been lovingly planted and nurtured by her. Her fruits of labour will indeed be enjoyed by many generations.
Those who knew her and loved her will know the emptiness in their lives, she has left a void in us all. Not a moment goes by without missing her, such was her beautiful presence in our lives. Sunu’s legacy lives on with her children and grandchildren whom she has nurtured with love, support and dedication.
Sunu is survived by her loving husband, the love of her life, Mr Anil Shahi with whom she enjoyed a beautiful and fulfilling life.
An equestrian and someone who loved to visit Scotland, here is a farewell to her next journey led by a horse & carriage and acoustically serenaded by bagpiper as Sunu rests peacefully…
Sunu’s children John, Razeel, Suzeel & Nichole. Grand children, Nicholas, Ryan, Samara, Shourya and Kayah. Son-in-law Lihhaan and daughter-in-laws, Shrutee and Moni thank you for your presence today as we all mourn the loss of a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.
