Thank you Father for including Rose in our lives love Always from team Wallace
Auntie Rose. You’ve been such a big part of my life, from childhood to adulthood, and my children’s — truly part of our village. Saying we miss you doesn’t come close. We had so many summers and trips planned, but I hold tight to the memories, your unwavering support, honesty, sharp insights and your giggle (behind your hand!). You never suffered fools, always knew what was going on and listened when it mattered most. My children adored your fun, spontaneous spirit (unless it involved eating out — I can still see you waving your hand, going “ewww!”). You were patient, present, and always first to send a card. I’ll never forget your cooking — especially your veggie stew peas and dumplin, the best in the world. Things are so different without you. My children and I are so lucky to have had you as my aunt. We love you and we miss you Andre, Monica, Ayla and Rowan we are here for you as always, always xxxx
My memory of my sister Rose growing up in Jamaica. We had so much fun together! I remember the house parties, clubs, birthday parties, having our children. Not a year went by and you didn’t send Christmas and birthday wishes. Having my daughter every summer holidays, taking her and Andre all over London. We went on coach trips to the seaside. You coming to Luton – you never liked to go on the train, always the bus (ha ha). Your rice and peas every Sunday, your pea soup on Saturdays. Rose, you looked out for my kids for me. You made us laugh. Your life with us was magical. Rose, as my sister, you were one beautiful sister, inside and out. My life will not be the same without you. You were always there for me, didn’t matter what. You never shut me out – always took time out to talk, listen and give advice. There is a big void left in my life, but the memories of you will always stay alive. Rest, my beautiful sister, until we meet again. I will always love you Rose (Valda) Elaine Wignal. Always, your sister, Brenda xx
The memories I have of you Valda will never fade! It hurts losing a dear friend and work colleague, your championship none can beat, brilliant work ethics keeping the ITU running smoothly throughout the years passed. Most of all, I will miss seeing your beautiful face and smile light up from afar, waiting patiently for my arrival at the top of Amhurst Road. The visits to your home always entertaining, our chats in particular and your quirky laugh! (Sunday dinners and drinking one of your favourites the Australian Yellowtail!) I thank God that you came into my life and taught me well, offering sound advice from majors to minors, fantastic confidant. They’ll never be another Valda, so my friend goodbye and thank you from the bottom of my heart. Millie X
I’m so sorry for your loss our deepest condolence to you Andre and family. Words cannot begin to express how much we miss auntie. Growing up and living nearby was such a precious and important time for us kids. Now we are adults those important life skill lessons has shaped our abilities to be able to navigate in this world. Remembering all the fun times we had from making things, going out and of course auntie cooking our favour choices of food. Nothing was ever too much. She would always grant our wishes taking care of us and just having a laugh, so clever and so witty. Great times, valuable times, memorable times, with our cousins and friends. Auntie has left a wonderful legacy through you her strong and beloved son and beautiful family. So proud of you Andre. She has always inspired us to be the best of ourselves and never give up on our dreams. Always making us laugh with funny comments and jokes. I remember auntie telling Li’Ana and Tiberius be the best person you can be no matter what stands in your way. You can rest now auntie as we’ve got you and will never forget you. Always love Natalie, Li’Ana,Tiberius
I’ve had the honour of knowing Valda since our secondary school days. Over the years, she became more than just a close friend — she was family in every way that mattered. Through life’s many ups and downs, Valda stood strong. No matter what challenges or illnesses she faced, she never complained — she simply carried on with grace, resilience, and that quiet strength that defined her. We spent countless hours on the phone, talking about everything under the sun. She would often vent about work, and I would listen — not just because I cared, but because that’s what friends do. Our conversations would flow from the serious to the lighthearted, from family matters to daily routines. She adored her grandchildren, and they were often at the centre of her stories, her laughter, and her love. Valda had a laugh I’ll never forget — it was one of those laughs that stayed with you long after the moment passed. I remember our coffee meetups fondly; she was so particular, always scraping the cream off the top of her coffee — a small quirk that still brings a smile to my face. We’d chat for hours and wander through shops, not always buying anything, but always enjoying each other’s company. She faced many obstacles in her life, but never let them define her. She was a practical, competent, smart woman who carried herself with dignity and strength. Even in the hardest of times, she found a way to make peace — especially with her family, which I know meant a great deal to her. Valda, I will miss you more than words can express. I’ll miss our talks, our laughter, and all the little moments that made our friendship so special. You were one of a kind, and your memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved you. Rest in peace, my friend.
Valda, I’ve made it to your home although nearing the end of my I caught the wrong bus, oh how shameful still can’t grasp it! Guess what I even made an error with the meeting stop (Amersham Vale) in the condolences Amhurst Road! You’d be laughing saying “there’s no Amhurst Road!” cheerio Valda my friend, Millie X
Dear Rose, You officially played an auntie role in my life, I met Andre when I was around 16 years old and you welcomed me into your home….you fed me (stew peas) and watered me…% etc! You always checked on us when we’re up blasting music to the early hours in his bedroom….”Andre…turn that down” lol I will always remember your wit and unfiltered tongue! You are truly missed! PS:Don’t worry about Andre, he can’t get rid of me! Rest well!
