Yash's Life Story
Yash was born in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania on 11 January 1945. Yash was one of seven children and had five sisters and one brother. He went on to study in India before moving to London in February 1968. He met and married Kiran in 1972 and they lived in Tooting in London before moving to Basingstoke in Hampshire. Yash and Kiran had two daughters Reshma and Chetna and were married for 20 years. In 1992, Yash moved back to Tooting where he spent the rest of his life.
Yash was very healthy and active and went to the gym everyday. He loved going to the library and reading about politics (especially American) and discussing topical issues in the news.
Yash adored his daughters and granddaughters and was cherished by them. He had a big heart and his love, laughter and generosity will be truly missed.
May he rest in peace and may God rest his soul.

(21)Met Yash when he was working at BTP, then after he retired we kept meeting for meals and drinks in Tooting at the Best and tastiest Indian Restaurant… (Mmmmm! the mango lassi). Yash uncle was a sweet, intelligent, kind and ever smiling man. He will be forever, sorely missed by all of us, his family. Thankfully, we have happy, everlasting loving memories of him and for that we are forever grateful. I personally remember his smile and kindness and him sniggering and joking with everyone at functions and his home, and radiating that to all who knew him. Always in our hearts never forgotten. Tijana and I were blessed to meet Yash when teaching a short course a couple of years ago. His joyous laughter and kind nature uplifted us and his fellow students everyday, rain or shine. We were remembering how so often he support us, by helping his classmates and always asking how we were, we cannot imagine the course being so enjoyable without his contribution. We would like to thank Chetna for letting us know of his passing. Our thoughts are with his family, we are grateful that you have shared him with us for a little while. With love, Paola and Tijana

JSK. A lovely ceremony and beautiful words for your dad. I have fond memories of us when little and coming to stay with you guys in Basingstoke. My deepest of condolences to you guys, it’s heartbreaking to see you girls lose your dad but like you said he will always look down on you all of you, and he touched so many hearts with his love. I worked with Yash at BTP he had an in depth knowledge of politics , investments and life matters, I enjoyed his conversations and his stories . He was kind and fun to be around , always had a nugget of wisdom to share. He was an avid fan of Lady Gaga and had some brilliant dance moves. May his soul rest in perfect peace My prayers are with the family
