Covering approximately 33 acres (12 hectares), it is a Grade II registered historic park (Historic England list entry 1001565) of significant national importance. The crematorium, dating from the 1930s, was recently extended with works completed in late 2024, adding a new energy-efficient cremator and a refurbished chapel. The Grade II listed West Lodge Memorial Hall was sensitively restored and reopened in September 2023 as a Book of Remembrance room. The cemetery contains 83 First World War and 42 Second World War burials.
