About Crompton Cemetery
Crompton Cemetery opened in 1891 and covers 13.9 acres in the Shaw area of Oldham. It is the only Oldham Council cemetery to offer an eco-friendly natural or green burial option, where no permanent memorials are permitted in the designated green burial area and biodegradable coffins are encouraged. It also has a dedicated cremated remains plot available at a slightly higher fee than other Oldham cemeteries. No chapel facilities are available on site.
Grave leases are provided from 99 years, with extensions usually available from the cemetery.
