About Hyde Cemetery
Hyde Cemetery opened in 1894 on Stockport Road in Hyde and is one of only two Tameside cemeteries with a dedicated Muslim burial section. No chapel is available on site, and the cemetery follows Tameside's standard lawn cemetery format with maximum 20-minute graveside services. A Garden of Remembrance is available for the scattering of cremated remains and memorial plaques. The cemetery serves the Hyde, Gee Cross, and Godley communities.
Grave leases are provided from 100 years, with extensions usually available from the cemetery.
Anyone can be buried at Hyde Cemetery, but grave prices depend on residency. Lower resident rates typically apply to families living in Tameside, with higher fees for non-residents. Residency rules are complex so please check with your funeral arranger.
